This particular shot, looking straight down the main from east Leyden, hadn't been feasible for over a decade due to tree growth. However, the primary tree blocking the shot died and the owner cut it down, opening the view up again! The westbound Zephyr is just knocking down the clear signal.

Note "Kermit the Frog" strapped to the front of the Zephyr. Whenever this particular crew takes Amtrak west (Wednesdays and Saturdays), you can find Kermit on the point. It is an ongoing joke with the crew.
