The eastbound Zephyr has left 70 MPH track behind and is now slowing as it approaches a sharp curve at the west entrance to Byers Canyon. Due to the sudden speed change, UP has a detector set than, when an eastbound is detected, an automated voice comes on the radio reminding the train that they are approaching 20 MPH track.
