While a southbound coal load cools its traction motors in the "Sag" on Main One, a northbound coal empty moves at track speed (roughly 40 MPH) on Main Two on its way north toward Denver. Pre-World War I, the DRGW track and the ATSF track crossed one another here...you can still see the remains of the bridge where the two tracks crossed. Today at this location, ownership of the tracks change hands between UP and BNSF on either track.

Yes Adam, you are correct. This is about two miles north of Palmer Lake (and the start of double track as you head north).
