Along with the six Heritage Units that appeared at the reunion in Salt Lake City, UP 8444 made an appearance too. It's no coincidence that, of all the SD70ACe's on the roster, UP 8444 was the one to make the trip. For many years, UP's steam engine 844 (a 4-8-4) was numbered UP 8444 due to a GP30 holding the number 844. When the GP30 was retired, the steam engine was changed back to UP 844, opening a spot on the roster for this SD70ACe!
